Last year several attempts were floated with regard to a possible term limits repeal in Michigan, however nothing came to fruition.  US Term Limits Foundation conducted polling in Michigan, which found that 66 percent of Michigan voters favor term limits.  This number was up 7 percent from the original passage of term limits in 1992.

SJR A, a bill introduced by Representative Bishop (R-Rochester) would repeal term limits for the State House and State Senate.  The bill has been referred to the Senate Government Operation and Reform Committee.  No hearing has yet been scheduled on the bill. Last action on the bill was taken on January 25th.

Threat Level:     Still a possible threat
