There are several bills making their way through the Florida Legislature the most prominent ones being SJR 598, and HJR495, introduced by Senator Bennett, and Representative Troutman respectfully. These bills would put a 12 year limit on all legislative members three 4 year terms on house members and two 6 year terms on state senators. The Third bill to be on the look out for is HM 17 introduced by Representative Schenck. This bill urges Congress to adopt Congressional term limits allowing a maximum of 12 years in each chamber.
